India won the series 3-0 to regain Anthony D Mello trophy with one test match left in the series.
Day 5 turned to be a formality for India and they finished England on 195 in second inning. It took only 8 overs to win the test on day 5 and with that India regained the trophy with one test match left in the series. India won the test match by inning and 36 runs.
Bairstow was the first one to depart on very first over of day on the carom ball from Ashwin. After his wicket lower order had no answers against the world class spinner and with that Ashwin starred the show on day 5 in the morning by taking up all remaining 4 wickets and also completed his another 10 wicket haul in a test match. He took 6 wickets in the second innings (55/6).
Kohli judged man of the match for his miraculous 235. India have won 8 test matches in 2016 – the joint most for them in a calendar year and this was consecutive 5th test series win for India. Kohli has dominated this series with both his captaincy and batting skills He is the highest run scorer in this series.
England might have lost the game but they will look to win the 5th test match and on the other side India will be looking to end this year in a style will go for a mark of 4-0. England is trying to work on their deficiencies against the spinners. Next and final test match of the series is scheduled in Chennai where India can try new combinations of players.
