Shanghai Rolex Masters Preview

Shanghai Masters begins !!

Shanghai Masters is ready, being awarded the Best ATP 1000 masters for 2015 So it’s the time of the year to experience the best of the lot again, Shanghai. This event will lead to the he crucial points addition to those players’ profile who are still in the Race to London, to settle for the remaining 4 spots, namely Kei Nishikori, Gael Monfils, Rafael Nadal, Dominique Thiem and Tomas Berdych.

The defending champion, the Serb Novak Djokovic is looking forward to return to the top gear from the shoulder injury and hence, closing the season as the number 1 for the fifth time, bidding to tie with Roger Federer for this record.

On the other hand, Andy Murray can give the world number 1, a run for his money, as he is looking to continue as he quotes ‘the greatest season of his career so far’. He’s ardently looking up to this golden opportunity to grab the number 1 spot; with his calibre and the highest Tennis Quotient that he possesses, he may be very much successful in dethroning the dominant Djokovic off the throne of the top spot.

The possible QF line up would be

Djokovic vs Kygrios

Nadal vs Cilic

Ferrer vs Wawrinka

Del Potro vs Murray

Whereas, there is a strong doubt, i.e. Del Potro or Goffin? Who would get into R32, because either of them have shown an outstanding improvement this year! While the 2009 US Open champion Del Potro reached the QF of the US Open only losing to the Champion Stan Wawrinka, he also bagged a silver medal at Rio Olympics, and, Goffin was a finalist in Rakuten, Japan and has sealed some amazing victories against top 10 this year (including the 6-0, 6-0 victory over Berdych in R16 at the ATP 1000 Rome Masters).

Also, a usual hindrance to the top seeds, known as Rafael Nadal, returning to his monstrous form which he has been exhibiting this spring. “I’m not satisfied with my performance [this season] because I got injured for two and a half months,” said Nadal. “I missed very important events. When you come back without practice and you have to compete in another important event without having practice and matches on your shoulders, it’s difficult to be satisfied.” The bull is ready for more, and has got Djokovic, Berdych, Tsonga and Cilic in his half for the tournament.
