The Wimbledon day 5 has some great matches to look out for as the competition becomes tougher than before as the tournament commences towards its end.

The day 5 action on the centre court starts with the Belarusian, Victoria Azarenka taking on the British national, Heather Watson. Azarenka and Watson are both coming off some good wins from their first 2 matches. While Azarenka had to play a 3 set match to make a comeback in her very first match, Watson managed an easy pass with a straight set win. The case was completely vice versa of that of the 1st Round. Azarenka and Watson have met on 4 occasions before, all ending up in an imminent Azarenka win. Though the match should be an intriguing one as Azarenka has had a long time off court and it would not amaze the pundits seeing her lose this match given Watson’s form.

Next up are matches from Rafael Nadal and following it is a match featuring Andy Murray. Both the players made a great start to their campaigns with Nadal entering the competition in red hot form after a successful clay court season while Murray experiencing the worst form of his career but somehow managing to find some momentum from his first 2 rounds wins.

Murray will be taking on the 28th seed, Fabio Fognini, a player who can’t be under-estimated. On the other hand Nadal is facing Karen Khachanov, and wouldn’t find it hard to beat this guy given his great form and momentum to spur his confidence. The odds are in favour of the Spaniard whilst Murray might experience some hiccups as he prepares for his toughest tie uptil now in Wimbledon 2017.

The court 1 sees action from the tops seeds, Marin Cilic, Venus Williams and the British No. 1 and the 6th seed, Johanna Konta. All these players will be facing some tough opponents but it would be safe to bet on Marin Cilic and Venus Williams winning their matches unless luck decides to favour their opponent. Johanna Konta might be facing a challenge in her maiden Wimbledon 2017 Round 3 match. She was made to work in her 2nd round win against Donna Vekic, which makes it safe to assume the possibilities of an upset being surged.
