Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori advanced to the French Open quarter-finals on the ninth day of the second Grand Slam of the tournament. Murray will face Nishikori while Wawrinka has Marin Cilic as their opponents in the quarters. In other half Rafael Nadal will face Carreno Busta and sixth seeded Dominic thiem will take on defending champion Noval Djokovic in quarterfinals of French Open.
In quarterfinal of women’s singles, 11th seed Wozniacki will face Ostapenko and crowd favourite Kiki Mladenovic will face Bacsinszky. In the other half, Simona Halep will face Svitolina and Gracia will face Pliskova.

Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina was made to work hard by the Croatian qualifier Petra Martic as their match ended in three tight sets. Svitolina won 4-6 6-3 7-5.
Wawrinka eases past Gael Monfils:
Swiss third seed Stanislas Wawrinka eliminated the last Frenchman remaining in the draw. Wawrinka ousted Monfils in straight sets 7-5 7-6 6-2.
Cilic into last 8 after Anderson quits:
Croatian seventh seed Marin Cilic reached his first French Open quarter-final on Monday when South African opponent Kevin Anderson suffered a thigh injury and retired from their last 16 clash.
Nishikori sets up Murray clash:
Japanese number one and world number 9 came back from getting dismantled in the first to eventually beat the Spaniard veteran Fernando Verdasco in four sets. Nishikori won 0-6 6-4 6-4 6-0.
Andy Murray ended Russian’s dream run as he defeated Karen Khachanov in straight sets. The last year finalist looked much improved in his 6-3 6-4 6-4 victory over the unseeded Russian.

Garcia prevails into quarters:
Carolina Garcia prevailed in an all-French affair here in the round of 16 as she defeated unseeded French player Alize Cornet in straight sets. Garcia won 6-2 6-4.
Simona Halep cruises into last 8:
Romania’s Simona Halep cruised past Spanish Carlo Suarez Navarro in straight sets. Halep won 6-1 6-1 breaking her opponent 5 times.
Pliskova made to work hard:
Paraguay’s Veronica Cepede gave a tough fight to the second seeded Karolina Pliskova from Czech Republic as they were a part of an encounter which lasted 1hour and 52 minutes. Pliskova won 2-6 6-3 6-4.
