French Open 2017 : Day 3 Preview

A few interesting match to be witnessed on Day 3 at Roland Garros :

Beginning at 11 am FST, 2:30 pm IST:

Philipp Kohlschreiber vs Nick Kyrgios: The two will play each other for the first time, while Nick is expected to win in straight sets.

Guido Pella vs Juan Martin del Potro:  An All-Argentine clash will be held. del Potro leads the head-to-head, 1-0, the victory came to him in 2016, at Miami, in the R64, where he won in straight sets.

Johanna Konta vs Su-Wei Hsieh: The two have met each other, twice before, while Konta won on grass, and Hsieh won on hard, in 2013. It will be there first meeting on clay. Konta, who had a phenomenal strat to the season, and is leading at the third place in the Race To Singapore, is expected to win today.

Carla Suarez Navarro vs Maria Sakkari: Navarro leads the head-to-head, 1-0, as she won the R64 meeting at the Australian Open in 2016, in 3 sets. The Spanish, being Spanish, can win this one again.

Elina Svitolina vs Yaroslava Shvedova: The lady leading in the Race To Singapore, trails against Shvedova, 0-1, as she lost to her in Wimbledon last year, in the R64, in straight sets. Svitolina can easily level the head-to-head today.

Beginning at 12:30 pm FST, 4 pm IST:

Thanasi Kokkinakis vs Kei Nishikori: It will be the first meeting of the two players. Kokkinakis will play his first professional match of 2017.

Andy Murray vs Andrey Kuznetsov: The world number 1, leads the head-to-head, 2-0, defeating both times on hard, and has dropped only one set against Kuznetsov. The world number 1 can pull off a good game, which he hasn’t been able to display this clay season.

Stan Wawrinka vs Jozef Kovalik: First meeting of the two; The 2015 champion can win in a clean sweep

Beginning at 1 pm FST, 4:30 pm IST :

Madison Keys vs Ashleigh Barty: This is going to be a first time face off between Keys and Barty .

Beginning at 3 pm FST, 6:30 pm IST: Marketa Vondrousova vs Amandine Hesse

Beginning at 4:30 pm FST, 8 pm IST :

  • Agnieszka Radwanska vs Fiona Ferro
  • Genie Bouchard vs Risa Ozaki
  • Krystina Pliskova vs Paquet

Simona Halep vs Jana Cepelova: The head-to-head is 1-1, Jana with a win on grass, Halep on hard. Halep was injury stricken, can perform well, as she did in the practice.
