Bayern thrashed PSG 3-1
Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern the lead just 8 minutes into the game. The entire PSG defence stood still, waiting for the offside to go up by the linesman but he was onside, with Dani Alves playing him onside from right-back who didn’t push out quick enough. Kingsley Coman flicked the ball over the PSG defence and it fell perfectly to the Polish striker, just inside the six-yard box and he simply couldn’t miss.
37th minute, Bayern doubled their lead after they committed players forward and they made their pressure pay off as Tolisso rises highest in the area and places his header into the bottom corner of the net, a superb finish and Aerola had no chance of saving that.
PSG however pulled one back in 50th minute. Mbappe was given far too much time and space on the edge of the six-yard box, there wasn’t a Bayern defender near him and it allowed the Frenchman to pick his spot and fire a header into the bottom corner.
69 minutes into the game, Bayern doubled their lead. Tolisso with his second goal of the game, a superb finish by the Frenchman after Coman broke forward and waited until the time was right to play the ball straight into the path of the sprinting Tolisso who outpaced Verratti and then slotted the ball straight into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
Juventus hammered Olympiacos 2-0
Juventus opened scoring just 15 minutes into the game. Sandro was released in acres down the wing, and the left-back makes it to the byline before fizzing the ball back across goal for Cuadrado to tap into an empty net from inside the six-yard box.
Bernadeschi, who has been a great impact in his short time on the pitch, fired an unstoppable effort that flied right into the far corner! Great goal as Juventus wrapped up at 2-0 in 89th minute.
Basel also defeated Benfica 2-0
Mohamed Elyounoussi headed his side into an early lead. A great team move was finished off by the winger and Basel’s players celebrated near the corner flag as they silence the few Benfica fans that are in attendance
65th minute, Oberlin silenced the home crowd with a brilliant diving header from a corner. Just seconds after getting a booking Akanji grabs an assist. A free-kick from the left found the centre-back and he was able to head across goal for Oberlin to nod home.
Barcelona won 2-0 against Sporting CP
A curling cross from a corner swerves towards the edge of the six-yard box and perfectly picks out Alcacer, who rises high above his marker and beats Patricio with an excellent glancing header to give Barca the lead in 59th minute.
90′ + 1′ Mathieu doubles Barcelona’s lead with a late own-goal. Space opens up for Suarez, allowing the striker to sprint into the left-hand side of the Sporting box before crossing. The ball looks set to find Alcacer, but Mathieu cuts out the pass only to knock it straight into the back of the net. Of all the people to score the own-goal, it had to be the former Barcelona man.
Manchester United came from behind to grab a 2-1 win over CSKA Moscow
Alan Dzagoev gave CSKA Moscow the lead just before half time. Mario Fernandes was allowed acres of space on the right wing. He takes his time to get to the byline before pulling the ball back towards the centre of the box. Vitinho toe-pokes it towards goal but it needs the help of a ricochet off the back of teammate Alan Dzagoev to divert it into the net. 1-0 CSKA.
Romelu Lukaku however, broke his goalscoring drought with equaliser. CSKA looked to have squashed out all the spaces for United to attack but Pogba had other ideas. The Frenchman chipped a beautifully lofted pass towards Lukaku in the box, who volleyed it beyond Akinfeev who could do nothing about it.
Two minutes later, the Red Devils doubled their lead. Mata chipped the ball into the box for Rashford, who showed excellent control to bring the ball down and fire it low into the bottom right corner. Well taken goal from Rashford.
Anderlecht won Celtic 1-0
Appiah curled an inviting cross into the Celtic box which Gerkens headed goalwards. It goes in off the post, but Šimunović got the final touch and it went down as an OG.
Qarabag lost 1-0 to Roma
Perotti broke the deadlock in 53rd minute. He pass into the box, for Dzeko to slip onto and strike flatly into the leg of Sehic from eight yards out, that rebounds high enough and sharp enough to the left for the striker to squeak a tight header past the near left post and into the bottom corner.
While Atletico Madrid played out a 1-1 draw against Chelsea
Saul with the opener in 56th minute. Torres flicked Koke’s corner on at the near post and Bakayoko switched off to allow Saul all the time he needed to pick his spot to head past Courtois from close range.
However, The Blues notched their equaliser as Savic turns the ball past Oblak into his own net. Hazard caused the damage with a trademark run into the left inside channel. He fired the ball across the face of goal and the Atletico defender had to stick out a leg at the near post with Morata lurking. The deflection was enough to beat Oblak at close quarters.
