ATP Barcelona open: Nadal and Murray on course to finals

The very daring Yuichi Sugita, lost to Dominic Thiem, after being responsible for knocking out 2 top seeds previously. He seemed to lack concentration, or the nextGen star Thiem, proved to be very strong for him. He lost 6-1. 6-2.

Later, the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters finalist, Albert Ramos Vinolas, faced the world number 1, in a very interesting match. It was a replay of the match held at Monte Carlo, where Murray lost their first meeting in 3 sets. Today, Murray levelled the head-to-head, but not with ease. This match too, was stretched to the third set, which was a tie-break. Murray escaped an exit in a 3-hour battle, as he won 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(4). The guy is still lacing his wedding ring in his shoelace.

The King of clay, like the world number, also faced an unseeded player, who had knocked out 2 seeded players in the previous rounds. Rafael Nadal defeated Hyeon Chung in straight sets, whereas, the first set didn’t come to the Spaniard, easily. Chung left no stone unturned to save his service games. The two broke each other’s serve only once in the first, and eventually, the set was stretched to a tie-break. Nadal won 7-6(1), 6-2.

The unseeded vs unseeded match was held between Horacio Zeballos and Karen Khachanov, where the Argentine won, 6-4, 6-1. Zeballos broke the serve, preventing the set from reaching 5-5, in the first. In the second, Khachanov could save only one break point and won just one service game, in the end, preventing himself from being bageled.
