KISS- Keep It Short and Simple. This is a concept taught to most management students. Zidane seems to have taught the same to his team so that they could KISS the Liga crown. It only took Real Madrid and Ronaldo two minutes to devastate Barca hopes as Hernandez lost control of the ball and put it straight to Isco, who in turn sent a delightful pass ahead for Ronaldo. Ronaldo kept it simple- rounded off the keeper to coolly slot home. Elsewhere, Barcelona went one goal down to Eibar, which was more like icing on the cake, or should we say, jewel on the crown for the Galacticos. Zidane’s team seemed to relax, sit back and defend, while Modric and Kroos occasionally broke out to threaten on the other end. Just before half time Malaga threatened and forced a good save from Navas but Real went to the dugout with a lead and anticipation of victory.

Second half saw Benzema score from a Kroos corner after Ramos was denied. While Malaga players argued for an offside, only for two of them to be booked, elsewhere Barcelona had conceded yet another goal and the Galacticos could feel the trophy in their hands now. Benzema saw another effort ruled out while Malaga tried to dampen Madrid spirits occasionally, but Real Madrid were in cruise control of the game, as they have been most of this season and finished the game without any fuss to win their thirty third Liga title. That Barcelona scored four goals elsewhere did not matter now.

Credit is due to Zidane, who in his first season won the UCL and has guided them to Liga victory and his team are in yet another final. From effective rotation of the squad, to managing superstar Ronaldo, who was touted to be in decline at 32, Zidane was hands on to ensure that his team remain consistent throughout the campaign. Ronaldo has scored the least number of goals in Madrid jersey since his move from United, as well has played considerably lesser minutes than he is used to, but this season he has realized that at 32 his feet are not the same and changed his game accordingly to ensure he is fit for the end of the season, when it comes down to the wire for trophies. Once again, Zidane used his experience as a superstar Madrid player to ensure that Ronaldo accepts his age to prolong his career. From the looks of it, this Madrid squad can play two different teams that can win the title, and the championship win will go a long way to boost the confidence ahead of UCL final, where they will be looking to create yet another record by winning back to back UCL trophy. Until same time next year, it is Hala Madrid!!
