Manchester United signed world-record transfer deal for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku

In a bizarre twist of events Manchester United have turned the frontrunners to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton in what seems to be recently quoted bid of over 75 million and this has left Antonio Conte appalled of the fact that he might have to look elsewhere to replace Diego Costa.

Jose Mourinho does his business in a perverse manner and this is another instance where he has shown the same. United were reportedly set to move for either Alvaro Morata or Andrea Belotti but Mourinho was lately frustrated from lack of signings due to complications with Madrid for Morata and decided to sneak in for Lukaku ergo the Rooney exit seems inevitable and is rumoured to be the part of this deal.

Paul Pogba seems to have played a persuasive role for Lukaku while they are holidaying at LA to provide Lukaku the cogent evidence that he will flourish at United and then there is the same agent Mino Raiola being a factor to the United connects of Lukaku.

Still time for it all to fall apart, of course. Still plenty of time for Chelsea to fly Eden Hazard out to the west coast of America to whisper sweet Belgian nothings in his ear. Nothing is certain until he’s wearing the shirt, holding the scarf, and tweeting out the celebratory hashtag.

The move for Matic is likely to fall off after Lukaku’s change of allegiance as stated by various newspaper reports in England. Chelsea were already wary of strengthening a rival by sanctioning the sale of Matic to United and are likely to be even more sceptical since Jose Mourinho hijacked their interest in Lukaku and United are considering the likes of Julian Weigl and Eric Dier in place of Matic.

After securing the services of Victor Lindelof Mourinho is looking to further strengthen the defence with addition of Nelson Semedo and prepared to wait till January, United failed in a bid to sign him for 30 million earlier. Semedo has a release clause of around £53m and his contract with Benfica expires in 2021.

James Rodriguez or Gareth Bale are also on United’s radar but the move for either seems unlikely now and Madrid will want to include De Gea in the deal if it ever happens and United are reluctant for that. United though could land Bale if Real signs Mbappe this summer, Zidane is apparently willing to dispense with one of his star trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to bring Mbappe.
