Manchester part of England have been busy this transfer window with some big money recruits on board while some imminent. Romelu Lukaku 85 million, Bernardo Silva 55 million and now Kyle Walker 50 million, both the rivals are embodying some real forces and want to add more from their repertoire of priorities they prepared this summer.

When Manchester City drew United 0-0 in April Pep was furious that his team lacked intent and was quoted saying after the match:

“We don’t have full-backs to go up and down, up and down, because all of them are 33, 34 years old,” now he has equipped one end with Kyle Walker and the other is linked with Benjamin Mendy.

After Dani Alves turned down City in favour of PSG Pep accentuated on Spurs’ right back and was eager to get him done. Last season the City quartet of Sagna, Clich, Zabaleta and Kolarov provided 3 assists combined Walker mustered 5 himself and adds extra dimension with his athleticism though he may not be as good as Alves in passing accuracy (87% against 79%) but in his footballing prime he can surely rip apart teams from the right wing.

Rather than tucking infield in the manner of Guardiola’s Bayern Munich full-backs, Philipp Lahm and David Alaba, who in effect became holding midfielders or, in old-fashioned parlance, wing-halves, Walker has the potential to prove a one-man right flank in the way Alves was for his all-conquering Barcelona.

He was excited to join City and said that he has watched how Zabaleta functioned for City earlier.

“I watched Pablo Zabaleta countless times on YouTube and clips, because I think his timing of runs into the box is fantastic,” Walker said. “It’s something I can get into my game with my pace.

“If I can time my runs as well I don’t think anyone can stop me. I’m all about assists, I’m not really greedy. I don’t want to score, as long as I set people up and then they get the goals.”

City will be breaking another transfer record with this deal after they signed Ederson from Benfica which was considered a world record fee for any goalkeeper and now with 50 million plus add ons for Walker this could be the highest fee paid for any defender till now.
