ISL 2017: Jamshedpur hold Berbatov and co to play out an exciting 0-0 draw

Kerala’s underwhelming run to the season continued as they were held to a boring, yet another uninspiring 0-0 draw at home by debutant Jameshedpur FC. It was their second consecutive draw, after Bengaluru FC last week.

Nil-nil. It had to be. There is little to say after another fairly insipid performance that saw Kerala Blasters run out of ideas in a dull draw against Jamshedpur FC. As the Yellow submarines produced yet another uninspired performance despite dominating the match.

In the first 45 minutes, the match was balanced, with both sides adapting to a cautious approach. KBFC dominated the most in the first half, without threatening much. Importantly, the defence of both the sides was compact and did not give a single opportunity to the opponent’s attacker.

On the half-hour mark, Jamshedpur came close breaking the deadlock when they awarded free kick in  25 yards, the shot was denied by KBFC’s goal keeper Paul Rachubka and rebound well towards JFC’s Belfort, but the no.9‘s touch was just wide off target. He should have buried the chance into the net instead of a wasteful touching.
The Blasters duo of Berbatov and  Jackichand  –  were ridiculously good moving all across the front and back of the centerfield to find space and creating chances, but Jamshedpur defenders did enough to contain their threat in the final third.

Overall, the game lacked flair, and precise for a large part of the game. And the yellow submarines never really get into gear in the final third, as they lacked concentration and creativity; ran out of ideas when it comes to scoring goals.

A few bright spots here and there, but generally an underwhelming display by both sides, notably the Yellow submarines as they drew blank their two matches of the season at home. Lack of goals is a major cause of concern for both. All said the season is long; score will come eventually when you play more games.

In the end, Jamshedpur will be happy with a point considering they played two away games already, not so much for the KBFC unless they get back into  winning ways
