Chelsea have agreed a deal for Roma defender Antonio Rudiger for 33 million +5 million add ons, medical is due on Monday/Tuesday and the German defender is slated to get 77k pounds per week. Roma won 76% of their games in which he started last season compared to 52% when he didn’t. The versatile defender can play left, right and in the middle of a three man defence and has great ball skills and physicality and is excellent in air. In addition to seemingly being made out of iron, Rudiger possesses the explosive speed and power to enable a team to play a high line. His athleticism makes him the bookies favourite to most 50-50 balls, be it on the ground or in the air.  He relishes the physical battle and that was evident in the display he put on in the Confederations Cup this summer.

Wayne Rooney has finally returned home and he may well go down as one of the best strikers Premier League have seen and a Manchester United legend. Rooney returns to the Merseyside club as a champion and not as a conqueror, the boy who left Everton 13 years earlier embarked on a fairytale journey accomplishing every target in club football history if there were any with Manchester United. The player who once was compared to ‘White Pele’ has come a long way and Mourinho eased him out of the team last season and aptly so as the dynamic quality is slowly diminishing and age is catching up it was time he concluded his career where it all started. He has been handed the no. 10 shirt which was left vacant by the departure of Lukaku.

James Rodriguez has told Real Madrid to resolve his future within the next 48 hours before they fly off for the pre-season and initial reports suggest United to pounce on this as they consider him an ideal replacement for Wayne Rooney and consider an offer of 70 million but their fierce rivals Chelsea are also following the tracks and it could lead to another tug of war between the two English giants. Mourinho wants to add him to make United more vicious in their attacks which was the main problems last season and with a record of 38 goals and 36 assists in 110 games at Madrid he is clearly not a benchwarmer. Though Modric has told him that a move to United would be a step down in his career and he should fight for his place in the squad. Apparently Liverpool have also joined in the race but James has a clause with Adidas that he has to wear a no.10 shirt and the position is vacant at Manchester United.

New stories have developed in the Diego Costa saga after the striker is tipped to join Atletico Madrid this summer and is told to be loaned to Besiktas because of the transfer ban and will reunite with Simeone come January. But Chelsea are standing firm on a 60 million asking price and after the Lukaku blow they may have to increase the extent of search for his replacement. Potential candidates are Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti but as things stand he is still a Chelsea player and is told to report to pre-season training on Monday by the blues.

There is a degree of perplexity to the Dani Alves situation after contrasting reports have emerged some stating him of joining the paris outfit PSG while some suggesting that he has agreed verbal terms with Manchester City and a deal could be announced this week by City. The future of the Brazilian defender hangs in balance and he one of another experienced veterans up for grabs this summer.

Arsenal have not given up on the Monaco starlet Tomas Lemar and is told to have placed a bid of over 45 million after successive bids of 35 and 40 million were rejected by the French Ligue 1 side. There are rumours that the player have agreed personal terms but awaits fee to be agreed with his parent club demanding in excess of 70 million and Jardim feels that he is aplayer who can’t be replaced hence the reluctance.

Everton are looking to add more arsenal to their ranks after expressing desires for Gylfi Sigurdsson and Olivier Giroud and wants to move for either of them in near future which could take their spending well over 100 million this summer after racking up some quality names already, Koeman means business this time and with financial backings he is preparing to travel some distance on the road to next level.
