Alexis Sanchez saga have dragged a long way now and Arsenal’s beliefs to hold onto him will be assayed the coming days with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola monitoring the player as we progress in the transfer window. His departure will be tantamount to a heavy loss for the gunners as he is their main asset keeping in mind his past season performances. Arsene Wenger have been told to control the situation and played a placatory hand in calming the situation and some reports in Chile suggest that he will honour his contract at Arsenal and stay for one more season with the gunners.
Arsenal seem to be resolute in their intention of not selling him to a Premier League rival but will be allowed to move to Bayern or PSG if suitable offers come in. Manchester City have already some star players in their attacking ranks which includes the likes of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero and Nolito so making room for Alexis Sanchez may be a cumbersome task and he may well struggle to find himself a starting place in the City squad. PSG have reportedly contacted Arsenal about him and the talks are in initial stages and no serious statements can be made about that. City is expected to make an offer of around 60 million for the Chilean but if Arsenal are to sell him to a rival they demand around 80 million for the forward.
So much depends on how Sanchez reacts, and former Arsenal player Keown feels that the Chile international will not let the Gunners fans down on that score. “I think he is going to play, wherever he is, I don’t think he is the sort of lad who will down tools,” he said.
“Wenger has two years to go now on his contract at Arsenal, and he will want that time spent with the best possible players – Sanchez is one of Europe’s best players
