Football transfer round-up: Marco Verratti is set to stay at PSG , PSG make €222m bid for Neymar and more

If this transfer window haven’t been bonkers enough now PSG have offered a staggering sum of over 200 million for a single player and his name is Neymar whose release clause is set at around 220 million and the French outfit offered Barcelona 222 million to sign the Brazilian international. The move could well happen as reported by various sources earlier in coming weeks and this could beat the record transfer fee by some margin if this is to happen. The Qatar-owned club have already promised to hand Neymar a salary package worth over €30m a year after-tax, elevating the total financial commitment to well over €500m across a five-season deal – and placing the Brazil international’s earnings on a par with Lionel Messi’s recently agreed record wage at Barca.

After securing the services of Dani Alves last week after he snubbed Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, PSG will be looking to bring their chief demolisher last season when they surrendered the 4-0 lead at Camp Nou in Champions League. Neymar will be playing alongside his countrymen Alves and Thiago Silva and will be part of a special project which involves winning Champions League and domestic glory after PSG lost their crown to Monaco in France and were beaten by Barcelona in Champions League.

With a long-held ambition of establishing himself as the world’s best footballer, Neymar is eager to move to a club prepared to make him the tactical centre point of a first team focused on winning the Champions League. In doing so, Neymar believes he can not only emerge from Messi’s shadow at Barcelona, but better both the Argentine and Cristiano Ronaldo in the voting for football’s top individual honours.

Well there is equal probability that the move may well not happen as Neymar is very close with Lionel Messi and is part of the explosive front 3 and have achieved every honour that is at the club level moreover Barcelona’s official position on Neymar is that they have no interest in allowing the Brazilian to leave. “Selling Neymar is not something the club would think about,” said club lawyer Josep Vives. “We are very calm. He is one of the most important players we have; we will not consider any offers we receive for him.”

Marco Verratti is set to stay at PSG this season and Barcelona are now looking to sign Dele Alli in his place but Tottenham are resolute on not selling him and have posted a offer in excess of 80 million for the Englishmen to wag off any bids.

Ander Herrera have dispatched any reports of linking him to Barcelona and said that he feel very comfortable here at Manchester and is in line to be the next club captain.
