Manchester United have gone full kitchen sink in the transfer window and is expected to continue the frenzied stance as they are still linked with large pool of players. After securing the services of Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof, Mourinho will be looking to fortify some more areas in which United lack conviction and need to muster a few valuable additions.
First up is the Croatian winger Ivan Perisic who want out of Inter Milan and recent comments on the situation by Icardi and the club president stating that a player needs to be happy wherever he plays and it is known that Perisic wants to scale new possibilities have opened his exit gates and he regards United as a possible destination. But Milan’s sporting director insisted the move is “not happening”.
“Perisic is training with us and so far we have not taken into consideration anything that at Manchester United has offered us.”
Perisic further fuelled rumours the move was in its final stages after liking Paul Pogba’s recent Instagram video of the Frenchman welcoming Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford.
The newspaper Independent revealed this week that United were still a few million short of Inter’s £50m asking price for the 28-year-old, despite personal terms having already agreed between player and club.
Meanwhile ex Ajax winger Millen Baars have joined United and is expected to join the U18 side until he flourishes. Baars was spotted by United scout Marcel Bout last year while working with Louis van Gaal and retained his spot in Jose Mourinho’s scouting network even after the Dutchman’s sacking. He was chased by Chelsea and Arsenal but his father said that he had his heart set out for United.
As one comes in, another bows out. United have parted ways with Adnan Janujaz after a stiff period with the Belgian and he has moved to Real Sociedad for 9.8 million. He was once tipped for greatness, now has left the club for only £9m like Ferdinand said, “Hard work beats Talent”. No news has been there stating whether a buy back clause have been placed like Memphis Depay but the youngster who impressed after breakout season under David Moyes is not expected to return to Old Trafford.
United are further looking for a stable midfielder in the market and first names to top the priority list is Eric Dier and Fabinho. The reds have no intention of hijacking Chelsea bid for Tiemoue Bakayoko as reported earlier and the club is set on either of Fabinho or the England International Dier.
Fabinho has reportedly told Monaco that he wants to leave this summer and United have their eyes set on him but face a stern test from PSG and Atletico Madrid who have been told to place an initial bid of 45 million for the midfield maestro. Fabinho’s penalty record for Monaco in Ligue 1: 13 taken 13 scored states he can play multidimensional roles inside a team and provides an extra alternative to play with.
