Barcelona starlet Neymar is now tipped to stay with tha Catalans this summer after team-mate Gerard Pique tweeted a pic of him with the Brazilian whose caption said “Se Queda” which translates to ‘he stays’ in english.
The cauldron surrounding him has now dragged for long after PSG was rumoured to have triggered his release clause and certain french newspapers reported that personal terms may also well have been agreed.
Recently Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have been asked to calm things down by the Barcelona management and the trio reportedly had a “long chat” on Saturday night at the Sheraton hotel in New Jersey, where the squad is staying on its pre-season USA our. “It was a tough conversation which lasted more than an hour, and Neymar listened attentively to his team-mates,” the article states. “They told him that he can’t leave.”
If Neymar departs Barcelona the MSN will be in tatters but Barca will certainly have a fair share of cash in hand which they can use to lure their long term targets like Phillipe Coutinho and Marco Verratti.
However french newspaper Le Parisien reports that Neymar has demanded that his fellow countrymen Coutinho should follow him to PSG and asked to build a new team around him, albeit PSG are also thinking of Alexis Sanchez as an alternative to Coutinho as he has recently signed a contract extension with the reds and a move seem very unlikely.
The 25-year-old is determined to win the Champions League and Ballon d’Or and thinks a move away from Barca may be his best opportunity to do so but now all hype has been cooled by developments which insist that he is here to stay at Barcelona.
Another one doing the rounds is that PSG have offered a Verratti plus cash to Barcelona for Neymar and with both clubs holding press conferences at identical times it was very much anticipated so.
PSG are willing to pay for the Barca star outright but will also offer Verratti, 24, to maintain a larger budget in keeping with financial fair play.
Le Parisien this year claimed the French giants have £197m to spend on transfers.
Should Barcelona accept their player plus cash offer, PSG would also be able to afford to pay Neymar’s dad’s £36m agent fees.
