Arsenal GoalKeeper Wojciech Szczesny completes €12.2m Juventus move

The man with the most clean sheets in with 14 to his name Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus on a 12 million deal which could rise upto 15.3 million. He is considered as Buffon’s heir and has big shoes to fill, his potential was never exploited fully at Arsenal and the Poland International has improved heaps and bound during his last 2 years at Roma. In the press conference he was full praise for Buffon and said  “I’m delighted to be at Juventus. “I’ve spoken to Gigi Buffon – a true legend of the game. When you join Juve, it’s because you’ve been chosen. I didn’t hesitate one moment before coming here.

I’m ready to take on this challenge. Juventus is the best possible choice for my career. I’m 27 years old and I want to win. At this club there’s the right mentality to do so.”

Juventus are looking to find a replacement for Leonardo Bonucci who left for Inter few days back and are also looking to strengthen the midfield, they are reportedly eyeing a triple swoop in the region of €90m for Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, plus Valencia pair Joao Cancelo and Ezequiel Garay.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Matic has moved to the top of Juve’s midfield wishlist, ahead of Blaise Matuidi and Emre Can, despite the Bianconeri’s preference to sign the latter due to his “age and potential”.

Matic who was linked to Manchester United earlier this summer is set to move away from the London club after arrival of Timoue Bakayoko and Chelsea are reluctant to sell him to United after the Chelsea’s Lukaku bid was hijacked and converted by United. Juventus has now him on top of their priority list and this move could well play a catalyst in potential Alex Sandro switch to Chelsea.

Matic, along with Diego Costa, has been allowed to skip Chelsea’s pre-season trip to China and Singapore in order to sort out a deal.

Garay is viewed as a low-cost alternative to Roma’s Kostas Manolas but at 31 would not be a long-term replacement for Leonardo Bonucci. Cancelo, meanwhile, spent the second half of last season playing as a right winger, rather than a right-back, due to the ermegence of former Inter man Martin Montoya.

Juventus has opened sprawling new office headquarters in a restored villa near the club’s Allianz Stadium. The new site, which covers more than 4,000 square meters (40,000 sq. feet), will host the club’s management and administrative staff.

Located in the Continassa district of Turin, the office space is just the first part of the JVillage, which will eventually also include a training center, hotel, media center, store and school. The club’s offices were previously located downtown on Corso Galileo Ferraris, while Juventus currently trains in Vinovo on the opposite end of the city from its stadium.
