Kings XI Punjab won by 14 runs to stay in the hunt for play-offs in IPL

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 14 runs in an IPL match in Mohali on Tuesday. Kings XI Punjab scored 167/6. Despite scoring a low total of 167/6, KXIP restricted KKR to 153/ 6 in 20 overs. Rahul Tewatia and Mohit Sharma took two wickets each for KXIP, while Chris Lynn (84) top-scored for KKR

With this win, Punjab kept their hopes alive of making the Play-offs. They have two games remaining and they need to win both to stay in the hunt. Though Kolkata began briskly thanks to Sunil Narine (18) and Chris Lynn (84), the Punjab bowlers were brilliant as they managed to defend their total (167/6). Mohit Sharma (2/24) and Rahul Tewatia (2/18) were the pick of the bowlers.

Punjab now have 12 points from the same number of matches and play Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant away. KKR, on the other hand, remained second despite the defeat with 16 points from 13 outings. They have already made the knockout stages.
