India vs Windies : India Outclass West Indies to Take 2-0 lead in series

Put in to bat, they lost early wickets; Dhawan for 2 and Kohli for 11 , India overcame a bad start to post 251 for four on a slowish surface, largely due to the efforts of Dhoni (78 no off 79), Kedar Jadhav (40 no off 26) and Ajinkya Rahane (72 off 112).

Defending a tricky total of 251, Indian bowlers produced another clinical performance to seal a 93-run victory in the third one-day International match in Antigua.

The Indian bowlers then proved too good for the inexperienced West Indies’ batting line-up, dismissing the hosts for 158 in 38.1 overs. Indian spinners took seven wickets in this match which is the most by them in an ODI in West Indies.

MS Dhoni, who still continues to be cool, calm and seemingly unruffled in most situations, once again showed that the former Indian skipper is a master technician behind the stumps. After his blazing knock of 79 runs, which included four boundaries two maximums, Dhoni was brilliant with the gloves.

MS Dhoni adjudged the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 78 off 79 balls and one stumping.MS Dhoni has now won three Man of the Match awards in ODIs in West Indies which is the most by an Indian player and the joint most by a wicket-keeper in ODIs in West Indies.

MS Dhoni: It is like wine (On getting better with age). The top order has been doing the bulk of the scoring, it feels good to go out there and get some runs. Personally, I had 250 in my mind. It is important to guide Kuldeep for the first 5-10 games then he will learn.

Virat Kohli: I think it was a very clinical performance. It was good toss to for the Windies. When we needed the wickets, the two spinners stepped up. We will look into it (team changes for the upcoming games). There are players who haven’t had a game.

Jason Holder: I thought the bowlers did a good job, one criticism was at the back end of the innings, in the last overs. We have to come hard (remaining games) We have to obviously adjust our batting.
