ICC Champions Trophy : Pressure is on India not Bangladesh, says former captain Habibul Bashar

By Saurabh Kumar

India vs Bangladesh matches were not considered that interesting prior to that poster incident and the nail biting finish of the world cup T20 match. Bangladeshi team had raised their standards a lot in previous few years and performed exceedingly well in this tournament also. Maybe this is the reason why the former captain Habibul Bashar thinks that the pressure will be more on India as compared to Bangladesh.

Well he is showing the faith and confidence in countryman but the way he is speaking seems it is over-confidence as in the press-conference he only mentioned the name of Rohit Sharma as the threat to Bangladeshi team. He completely forgets the names of ShikharDhawan, ViratKohli, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, KedarJadhav, and Hardik Pandya. All the batsmans had shown glimpses of how destructive they can be and ShikharDhawan is at his best.

He told that – “If Sri Lanka can beat them why can’t I”. But they should strategize the things and the plans to execute rather than building castles in air. Former captain and one of the most talented batsmans of Bangladesh Mohammad Ashraful also said that pressure would be on India and only one or two percent separates both the teams.

All the Bangladeshi fans are happy and they had strong reasons also as they had really life their standard of playing in the previous two years and in particular in this tournament they had so many positives. The way the players are sensing their responsibility is commendable but thrashing others by the words only who are the favorites of all the cricket pandits across the globe isn’t giving positive vibes.
