ICC Champions Trophy : India beat South Africa To March Into Semi-Finals

Shikhar Dhawan (78) and Virat Kohli (76*) 128 runs partnership took India (193/2) to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, beating South Africa (191 all out) by 8 wickets at the Oval.

After being put in to bat, South Africa made a good start. Openers Quinton de Kock (53) and Hashim Amla (35) started off slowly  and  were  at 35/0 after 10 overs. R. Ashwin dismissed Hashim Amla for 35. Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock (50 of 68 balls) formed a 76 runs partnership , Quinton de Kock scored a half-century off 68 balls .  The entire South African middle-order collapsed like a house of cards .From 140/2, South Africa lost last 8 wickets for 51 runs in 98 balls. Each and every Indian bowler took wickets and India restricted the score to 191 runs.

Chasing a low total of 192, India lost Rohit Sharma’s wicket for 23 .Shikhar Dhawan (78) and Virat Kohli (76*) stitched together a 128-run stand to take India close to the South African total.

Dhawan departed for 78. He formed a 128 runs partnership with Kohli for the second wicket and captain Virat Kohli remained unbeaten at 76 from 101 balls. Yuvraj Singh finished the innings with a 6.(Scorecard)

India won the match by 8 wickets with 12 overs to spare. Jasprit Bumrah won the man of the match (2/28 in 8 overs).Shikhar Dhawan becomes fastest to score 1000 runs in ICC tournaments in 16 innings.
