Edbgaston : Well it can be considered as a monopoly or a non-ethical practice but it has been done but whatever it is, it is done by the pitch curator and grounds man in Edbgaston, during the ongoing Champions trophy in England. The ground staff had reportedly refused to pitch mat that is normally in place when the ground hosts a county match.

Apart from hosting international matches Edbgaston is also the home ground of the county team Warwickshire and it is a norm during county matches that a matting which is an artificial pitch, is placed on the pitch itself to protect the pitch not to be damaged by the players running over it.

But this is unfair and will not help the reputation of England cricket board all across the world because the ground belongs completely to the International Cricket Council during the international matches. ICC doesn’t allows this kind of matting and had asked it to be removed. When match referee Chris broad try to have a word with the ground staff they refused to do so because the ground is going to host the Warwickshire’s County match against Lancashire.

India had thrashed Bangladesh be an all-round performance in one-sided semi-final match on 15th and looking strong to defend the title of ICC Champions Trophy.
