Sri Lanka face a tough challenge as India, after a dominant win over Pakistan will look to secure place in semis at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
Sri Lanka is struggling on the field ever since their legendary trio, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan has retired. The team has so far failed to replace them with equal talent and the inexperienced side would hardly create any trouble for defending champions.
Upul Tharanga is suspended due to slow over-rate and Chamara Kapugedera injured his knee. For Sri Lanka it’s a do or die match as a loss for Sri Lanka would mean they will be knocked out of the tournament.
Looking at the current team squad of team Sri Lanka and India’s brilliant performance over Pakistan , India are clear favorites to win the match today. ICC Champions Trophy 2017 has seen only one clear winner in seven matches so far and that is rain. With four of seven matches being affected by the weather, almost all the teams from both Group A and Group B still have a chance to enter the semifinal.
From Group A, England cricket team are the only side to have qualified for the semifinals after victory over Bangladesh cricket team and New Zealand cricket team.
